Your Decorative Wall Tile is Absolutely Stunning

When
Decorative Wall Tile Is All That Will Do
About a six weeks ago I got a call from
Heather, an old friend of mine that I haven't heard from in a while, asking me
for advice on remodeling two of her bathrooms and her kitchen. Knowing I'm the
"Wall Guy", she was interested in my suggestions on what to do with the walls of
these three rooms.
The first suggestion I made to Heather was
to go with
decorative wall tile in all three rooms. Once the tile is on the walls, the
walls for the most part are maintenance free.
I started by asking her what color scheme
she was thinking about for the half bath in the entrance of her home. She said
that she would like to go with earth tones of some sort of off-white with
perhaps light shades of brown.
My next suggestion was to go with white solid 4" x 4"
stained glass tile for the majority of the wall space in the entrance hall half
bath. About 16" from the top of the wall, insert a row of 3" x 6" China White
polished subway tile. For the next 24" down the wall continue with white solid
4" x 4" stained glass tile, followed by two rows of 12" x 12" Aspen Summit White
Pebblestone. When you get to approximately 16" from the baseboard, insert
another row of 3" x 6" China White polished subway tile. Then finish down to the
floor with more white solid 4" x 4" stained glass tile.
Heather's next thoughts were for her kitchen. She said
that she would like to create a pleasing colorful atmosphere in her kitchen.
Something to brighten up the room and add a touch of charm.
I knew exactly what to do to the walls of Heather's
kitchen. I would start out with the kitchen backsplash. Here I would add four,
maybe five kitchen backsplash mosaics.
Decorative wall tile like this adds a classic touch of art to the kitchen.
In-between the mosaics on the kitchen backsplash walls, I would put Aspen Summit
white pebblestone tile. The other walls of the kitchen I would paint
appropriately.
Heather's other bathroom was a full bath on the second
floor main hallway to the bedrooms. Here she said that she would like this
bathroom in blue decorative wall tile.
My first thought after Heather said she wanted this
bathroom blue was Royal Blue Gold Vein glass mosaic tile. This would be the
perfect choice for the majority of the bathroom wall space. Now for the border
near the top of the walls (About 6" from where the wall meets the ceiling) it
would have to be BRAGANZA Portuguese ceramic tile 3" x 6". Go down the
walls for another 30" with more Royal Blue Gold Vein glass mosaic tile. Below
that will be 5 rows of BRAGANZA Portuguese ceramic tile 3" x 3". Once again the
next row on the walls will be Royal Blue Gold Vein glass mosaic tile. This would
go down all the walls until there is about 6" of wall space above the
baseboards. The next row, at the 6" mark will be the low border of BRAGANZA
Portuguese ceramic tile 3" x 6". Below that would be more Royal Blue Gold Vein
glass mosaic tile.
As I was going over all this decorative wall tile
information with Heather, she was writing all of this down. At the end of our
conversation, she thanked me for my suggestions and said she would get to work
on this project immediately.
That was the last I heard from Heather until yesterday.
Yesterday I get a call from Heather inviting me over to her house to see her two
new bathrooms and kitchen. After I got to her house and saw those new tiled
walls, I was amazed at how beautiful they were. She did all three rooms exactly
as I suggested. For me, it was fun to see how a plan that was only in my head
come together as a beautifully finished project for my friend.
With warm regards,
